Last week was a huge day for Kenyan gospel artists after 2014 Groove awards nominees list was released. But what many didn't know is that Willy Paul and Gloria Muliro will not be participating in the entire Groove activities. "Msaidizi" hitmaker Gloria in a statement explained why she and Willy Paul woun't take part. Read the full statement below:

“Hi my Friends, fans. About the ongoing groove awards, I would like to tell you that I am not contesting this year because I decided to step down and pave way for my fellow artists to whom I would love to see them prosper in this music industry. I believe that there are so many young talents out there who are working hard and who need such a motivation more than I do and that is why my son Willy Paul and I will not be contesting in the awards this year because we were lucky to get the same last year. We've won different awards even from outside the country and so we decided to let the struggling young Talents to have a share of the cake, also because we might appear to be selfish. I respect the organizers of Groove awards and am ready and willing to work together with them.”  Commenting about the same Willy Paul said;  “... this year we are giving way to new talents... the upcoming artists struggle alot... very hard working let them enjoy the fruit of their hard work.”

2 DEAD while scores injured in the THIKA ROAD BLAST which occured today afternoon

Two people have died and several others injured following a twin blast which occurred along Thika Super Highway. Among the casualties were 9 female, 6 male and 5 children below 10 years who had soft tissues and limb fractures. The first blast went off outside the Bluesprings Hotel and the second one at the Kasarani underpass. Dr. Antonio Milito of Ruaraka Uhai Neema Hospital who confirmed the death said that 2 people died while more than 50 were injured and were referred to Kenyatta National Hospital and Guru Nanak Hospital for special treatment. The two buses which were loaded with several passengers belonged to Jean transporters and Mwiki Sacco. Vehicles which were using  Mwiki, Kasarani and onward to Thika were diverted following a heavy traffic which caused the Thika Road section between Jambo grill and TRM roundabout to be closed. Reports reaching our desk now has it that Churchill Show comedian, Emmanuel Makori Nyambane aka Ayeiya Poa Poa  may have gone mad. The comedian who was given a platform by Churchill and later left for Crazy Comedy was spotted over the weekend in Rongai behaving weirdly. We managed to obtain a video footage showing how AKA was behaving and i must confess it was so shocking. Reports now  indicate that he was taken to hospital after romours engulfed online that it was as a result of smoking bhang. This came as a shock after Shaevy who was known for the hit song "Gyal" also fell from grace to grass after intoxicating himself with too much drugs. Shaevy is currently languishing in Poverty after he was caught breaking a butcher window after refusing to pay for the meat he had eaten. We hope the two will recover and that someone will come to their rescue.

OJ refutes romours that he was fired from TAHIDI HIGH for being an ALCOHOLIC

Recently there were romours trending online that OJ also known as Oscar Ojiambo who used to be an actor at the famous Tahidi High programme which airs on Citizen Tv every Tuesday was fired for being a drunkard. A female writer at The Standard Newspaper came up with the allegations without even clarifying nor hearing the other side of the story. OJ decided to defend himself using his Facebook timeline and this is what he had to say:

“So jana there was an article about me that didn't have a positive outlook on my image. sawa here i go FACT; I was not fired from tahidi high, if anyone used to watch the show you all know that the class of Tanya, Freddie, Melvin and the rest, me included had to leave the show after being in form four too long (leaving the show was disguised as GRADUATING). as for the issue of being assistant director, creative differences between me and the director forced me to take a back seat am not a guy to stay somewhere and bootlick.

FACT2:the article forgot to mention that I Mr. Mugo now work for an advertising agency as the creative director/production manager and is a producer assistant for a reality show on K24 called Kikwetu supa chef.

Ugandan Gospel Singer Ambassada who recently claimed that his Facebook account was hacked last week after an updated was posted on his timeline that he was a gay now claims that Nairobi Pastors want to tarnish his name after exposing their evils deeds through use of music.

 The "Inkane" hitmaker recently did a collabo with Churchill Show comedian who is also a radio presenter at Milele Fm Dr. Ofweneke which lashes out how Pastors use their mandate to squash money from breathens. The pastors instead opted to teach him a lesson by revenging in such a manner that no one would expect.“Hell no! I am not gay. AVRIL refutes claims that she is a LESBIAN

Avril reveals some of the things you didn't know about her during an interview with a local newspaper

I was born and raised in Nakuru — a small town. Coming to Nairobi made me open my eyes to endless opportunities and challenges such as being in an industry where everything was sort of ruled by men, and it still is.

How did you realise that you could sing?

I have always been on stage from when I was a young girl but I discovered and professionally started singing after doing a couple of background vocals for a number of artists while I was still at Ogopa Djs.

How do you define yourself now after the success?

I define myself as an artiste who has managed to explore the arts from different angles having ventured into music and drama as well.

How different is Avril from Nyambura?

Avril is an act; Nyambura is a real person. Avril has to smile regardless of what is happening in her life but Nyambura gets to break down when she is behind closed doors, if she has to.

What is the craziest thing that you have done to get what you want?

I happen to be a very reserved and conservative person so I hardly do anything crazy. If something is not working I do not look for extreme solutions. I just make sure I work very hard to achieve whatever I want. I have never been handed anything on a silver platter in my life, and I never expect it, so I work.

Was there a time when you were a lesbian as per the rumour mill?

No.

How has the industry changed you?

The industry or any business, for that matter, does not change anyone; it just amplifies the person inside. The people and company you keep is what changes you for the better or worse. I try very hard to stay around people who impact my life positively and open my eyes to things that make sense.

Have you done things that you’d have imagined?

Yes, I am. I never thought I would be an actress.

What is the wrong perception that people make of you?

I wouldn’t know because those are their perceptions. Most of the time you will not know what people think of you because they behave  differently when they are around you.

How do you feel when most people see you to a sex symbol?

It is normal  for a singer or performing artist to be seen that way so I use it to my  advantage. Sex appeal is important for anyone who is in the public eye, it evens works for presidents.

 What next for you?

Entrepreneurship, hopefully being a wife and mother and even a better musician and actress .

AMBASSADA clears the airwaves in regards to the GAY ROMOURS allegations

"Inkane" hitmaker Ambassada has been the talk in the social media after romours went viral that he was a gay. The gospel singer claimed that somebody had hacked his social media account and posted a very weird message of him claiming to have changed his status from being straight to a gay. This just comes weeks after Churchill Show Comedian Owago Nyiro's Facebook page was hacked by a blogger who is currently using it to gain traffic into his/her site. This is what the hacker posted:

“I am Gay” that's what the status read.

Ambassada claimed that he had recorded a statement with the police and this is what he said during an interview with the SDE

“Yes! I have even contacted the CIS in regards to this because I believe they can unearth the culprit behind it all. Very soon I shall put an end to all this drama. Then move on to building my own brand.”Ambassada said.

Citizen Tv News anchor Johnson Mwakazi who is known for having the voice and looks when it comes to hosting and reading news is set to leave Citizen TV for Fountain Media. The news anchor who was once a porn addict back in the days has been a blessing to many lives after he shared the journey of his life and what he went through during a one on one interview on Turning Point show. Mwakazi who has been in Citizen TV for more than 8 years handed his resignation letter early this month and will be finalizing his stay at Citizen TV before leaving for Fountain Media come early next month. He also revealed that his journey of success came to pass when he first started at RMS in 2006 as a news anchor on HOT 96 before switching lanes to TV where his dream came true. By publicly and courageously declaring that he is a gay African, Binyavanga has demystified and humanized homosexuality and begun a necessary conversation that can no longer be about the “faceless other.”
