KISII county representative SAMUEL ABOKO jailed for calling UHURU KENYATTA a BHANG SMOKER

Kisii County representative Samuel Aboko Onkwani faces a jail term after calling President Uhuru Kenyatta a bhang smoker. The Kiogoro Ward representative termed it as a joke last year when he uttered the words but no one took it lightly. To many it sounded like a joke indeed but to the state it was undermining the head of the state President Uhuru Kenyatta. The Kisii county representative through his lawyer appeared principal magistrate Kibet Sambu and denied the charges requesting that his client be released on a bond. “My Lord we pray that this court releases our client on a reasonable bond, we also ask that we be supplied with witness statements,” said Nyambati, one of Samuel’s lawyer.The kisii court requested the accused to be released on a Shs 50, 000 bond and the case will be heard again on June 3.
